non-stick coatings for Paint shops

Reduced cleaning and maintenance costs

In the paint industry, non-stick coatings are used, for example, to prevent the deposition of paint on fans, hangers, tubs or pipes and to facilitate the cleaning of the surface. In addition, new non-stick coatings are particularly abrasion and scratch resistant as well as electrostatically dissipative.

The low adhesion tendency - or rather the non-stick effect - of fluoropolymers such as PTFE, PFA or FEP depends on their extremely low surface energy. PFA and FEP are copolymers of PTFE. The surface energy of solid surfaces is determined by measuring the contact angle of various liquids with known surface energies. This theoretical consideration of the water contact angle and the resulting force ratio results in values for the fully fluorinated plastics such as PTFE, PFA and FEP, from which one can conclude that the non-stick properties are equally excellent.
