coating for drinking water applications

New at Rhenotherm: Rhenolub® MK I-grey/TW, a bonded coating that is suitable for use in drinking water and can be applied to copper, brass and various plastics.

For components that move against each other as a result of the process, this dry coating ensures lower friction, a lower coefficient of sliding friction and the reduction of signs of wear. The coating ensures a longer service life of components, reduces annoying noises and simplifies the assembly of components.

Use in drinking water

The special feature of this coating system is its suitability for drinking water applications, which has been confirmed by the Hygiene Institute of the Ruhr area in accordance with the coating guideline of the Federal Environment Agency (Approvals according to FDA and KTW, WRAS in preparation). The Rhenolub® MK I-grey/TW coating can be used both in Cold water (23 °C) as well as hot water (85 °C) be used. Possible areas of application can e.g. B. slides or other equipment for pipes or repair systems for containers in the house installation.

Suitable for copper, brass and plastics

Another special feature lies in the process of creating this surface coating. While most of the coatings have to be hardened (baked) after application in a sintering process at temperatures up to 400 ° C, the Rhenolub® MK I-grey/TW coating hardens already at low temperatures between 80ºC and 150ºC. It is therefore ideally suited for use on materials that would not withstand the usual high sintering temperatures, such as copper, brass or plastics.
