PEEK - Polyetheretherketone coating
Polyetheretherketone are high-performance plastics sold under the brand names Vicote® from Victrex and KetaSpire® from Solvay Solexis. They are thermoplastics and particularly temperature-resistant due to their high melting point. In addition, they are relatively hard and abrasion-resistant compared to other plastics, so they are used as coatings with increased wear protection. With the exception of sulfuric acid, the corrosion and chemical resistance of PEEK is also very good, so that these plastics are also suitable as anti-corrosion coatings. Compared to fluoropolymers, PEEK has a higher creep resistance and is therefore also suitable for coating sealing surfaces that are subject to particularly high surface pressures.
