BMWi research project Anti-Ice "Multifunctional surface coating with ice-repellent effect" Vehicle: EP150189

(Runtime: Sept. 2015 - Aug. 2017)

The formation of ice on a wide variety of outdoor facilities exposed to freezing temperatures can significantly affect performance or pose a high safety risk. Examples are the icing of power lines or substations, telecommunications systems, solar technology, heat exchangers or rotor blades of wind turbines. As part of this research project, Rhenotherm is developing a coating that should virtually prevent the adhesion of ice.
