Glossary

sintering

Sintering refers to the solidification of crystalline, granular or powdery substances through the crystallites growing together at a correspondingly high temperature. In simpler terms, it is a process in which powders or small particles are combined by heat (without melting) so that they become a solid whole.

Sintering has developed into a key technology in many modern manufacturing processes. Sintering can produce materials with specific properties that would not be achievable through traditional methods.
