fully fluorinated

What is Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) or FULLY FLUORINED?

Polytetrafluoroethylene, more commonly known by the abbreviation PTFE, is a special polymer that is fully fluorinated. This means that its molecular structure is completely filled with fluorine atoms. This gives PTFE its unique properties and makes it one of the most versatile and useful plastics in the industry.

Colloquially, this material is often referred to as Teflon™, a trade name introduced by the DuPont company. But although Teflon™ is the most well-known name for PTFE, it is important to note that Teflon™ is just one brand of many that produce PTFE products.
