ECTFE copolymer of ethylene and chlorotrifluoroethylene

ECTFE = EThylen Chlor Tri Fluor EThylen

ECTFE is a thermoplastic fluoropolymer used as a material for coatings, better known under the trade name Halar®.

ECTFE coatings are particularly suitable for applications in which the highest demands are placed on chemical resistance, even at elevated operating temperatures. These coatings are used in containers, tanks, lines, pipes, etc., especially in the chemical industry. Due to a low roughness, the surface is relatively smooth with a good non-stick function. ECTFE is temperature resistant up to 150 °C and is considered a product with high purity. The coating also has high abrasion resistance and can be applied with a layer thickness of up to 1 mm, which achieves a high barrier property.

Rhenotherm Kunststoffbeschichtungs GmbH carries out contract coatings with ECTFE and is certified as a contract coater according to DIN EN ISO 9001: 2015.
