DBU research project "Resource-saving, functional coatings", FKZ: 30290-21/2

(Duration: initially April 2012 - April 2013)

In this project, Rhenotherm would like to take account of the future by conserving existing resources and making the production process more energy-efficient at both Rhenotherm and the customers it supplies. The aim of the project is to produce novel functional coatings for lightweight construction materials such as CFRP, GFRP and AFK that are high-strength, mechanically stable and as hydro- and oleophobic as possible. These new types of coatings should preferably be used on rotationally symmetrical components such as rollers and rollers, which can be driven with significantly less energy thanks to the lightweight construction material used.
