BMWi research project ZIM High Build Resist "Development of a double-sealed anti-wear layer with non-stick effect" Vehicle: EP 180413

The aim of the project is the development of a wear protection layer for the food industry with coating thicknesses of up to 500 μm. The protective layer is said to be based on fluoropolymers that provide high non-stick effects. The previously available fluoropolymer coatings can be applied only with comparatively low layer thicknesses. Thus, the maximum layer thickness of a Teflon pan is limited to a maximum of 50 μm. As a result of the small layer thickness, the wear associated with the use of the surfaces relatively quickly results in the layer being damaged and the non-stick effect wears off.
