BMWE research project EmReBel “Development of an energy- and media-saving cleaning concept through the use of multifunctional coating systems and lightweight-optimized chamber structures” Grant number: 03EN4109B
(Duration: Aug. 2025 – Jul. 2027)
Gentle and reliable cleaning of components is an essential part of numerous production processes and therefore a key factor in the competitiveness of high-tech companies. It also helps conserve valuable raw materials. The problem with current cleaning systems is their often complex design, which allows cleaning fluid residues to run off uncontrollably and be difficult to remove reliably. This leads to recontamination of subsequent cleaning batches and also necessitates energy-intensive drying processes. Together with its partners Ecoclean GmbH, Fraunhofer IPA, and Blechtechnik SHA GmbH, Rhenotherm will drive the development of a clean, resource-saving cleaning chamber with the following features:
- A special internal coating that ensures reliable drainage of cleaning agents and contaminants.
- An optimized chamber design, achieved through flow simulations and lightweight construction, is designed to maximize the recycling of the cleaning medium used.
- Adapted cleaning and drying processes tailored to the new chamber
